As the search continued to find a nice spot for my unique buyers looking to settle in a county outside of Non-Resident Sales Tax lands, our travels quickly took us out to Tillsonburg. Though we did not get the house in question, I took the opportunity to tour the town that George Tillson settled around Big Otter Creek, benefiting from the pine forests and bog iron deposits, and later the tobacco industry.

The architecture varies greatly in this town, due to the Aestheticism movement embraced by many of the locals, after Oscar Wilde’s North American tour in the late 1800s, resonated with some influential local residents. Sometimes you just need to do things for fun sake!

...over 100 years later those things are definitely appreciated by visitors like me.
